In 2007, Argiletz became the first natural and organic products company to obtain the ISO 9001 standard.
Whether you want crushed clay for the preparation of plasters and poultices or ultra-ventilated powdered clay to pamper your face, you will find the clay you need at Argiletz.
For all these qualities, clay has been used since the dawn of time by many civilizations for therapeutic purposes to provide comfort and effectively relieve our bodies. It is also a must in natural cosmetics. This "earth of life" is a beauty ally used for centuries: Clay is an inexhaustible treasure.
Easy to use, you can make your own face care with French clay.
The ultra-ventilated clay powder for the face
The clay face mask is one of the most common uses of clay around the world. Indeed, clay allows you to take care of your skin in a natural way, without artifice and with great ease.
Creating your own clay face mask is simple and requires little preparation.
Ultra-ventilated clay is ideal for a face mask because it is particularly soluble, it dissolves easily in a little water. There is no waiting time for a gentle and exceptionally effective treatment.
Put a few spoonfuls of clay in a glass or clay bowl (be careful, no metal as it alters the properties of the clay) and add a little water. You can also add floral water, thermal water, fruit juice, etc. instead of mineral water. Use about one tablespoon of clay for 1.5 times the volume of water or liquid. Mix with a wooden spatula until you obtain a soft and creamy paste, neither too liquid nor too thick. Your clay face mask is ready.
It is in contact with water that the clay comes to life and can transfer all its benefits to your skin. Spread a thick layer of clay paste on your face, avoiding the eye area. Leave the mask on for 10 minutes, making sure to moisten it regularly.
For the mask to be fully effective, it is essential to choose the color of clay that best suits your skin.
Green clay powder is ultra-absorbent and is also the richest in minerals and trace elements. It is suitable for all skin types thanks to its absorbing power: it eliminates toxins and other impurities for a cleaned, remineralized, smoother, fresher and clearer skin. Its incredible virtues sublimate all types of skin, but because of its great versatility and its many benefits, green clay is the one recommended more specifically for oily skin and atopic skin on which it will absorb excess sebum, soothe and rebalance the epidermis.
If you have sensitive or reactive skin, you can opt for pink clay (with a neutral pH) or Ghassoul clay. All these clays respect the hydrolipidic film of the skin. They gently cleanse and tone the epidermis for a guaranteed healthy glow.
Dry skin will be pampered by red clay which, thanks to its richness in iron oxides, will purify and soften the epidermis and illuminate the complexion. Finally, to exfoliate the skin and perform a gentle scrub, yellow clay is the best ally. It has a stimulating effect to give your skin a second youth.
For dull or mature skin, opt for white clay: infinitely soft, this clay has decongestant properties and cleans and brightens the complexion.
We offer all colors of clay to best meet the specific needs of your skin in 10 minutes. Discover our green, red, white, pink and yellow clay powder, as well as Ghassoul clay.
Green clay: Different granulometries for different uses
Argiletz French green illite clay is dried naturally in the sun: the gentle heat of the sun concentrates its active ingredients, making our clay more effective and beneficial. This natural drying method preserves its molecular structure, so you can benefit from all its active minerals and trace elements.
Drying clay in a natural way thanks to the sun also allows us to respect our nourishing earth. Indeed, thanks to this eco-friendly drying method, we do not emit any CO2 during the drying of the clay!
Did you know that? Most clays are dried in kilns. This method of drying is certainly very practical and fast, but it greatly depletes the qualities of the clay and is very energy consuming. At Argiletz, we have chosen since 1953 to respect and fully value this earth of health and beauty, and also our beautiful planet!
Whatever the size and shape of the clay, at Argiletz, we follow a " Argiletz nature quality charter ".
The granulometry of clay: what is it?
It is the size of the clay grain. Clay is presented in its raw state in the form of large blocks. After drying it during the summer, we use a specific machine to crush or grind it in different grain sizes to obtain a wide choice of granulometry: from crushed clay in irregular pieces of about 2cm to ultra-ventilated clay in the form of ultra-fine powder of 20microns. Thanks to our know-how, we know how to work this natural treasure to offer you granulometries adapted to all the uses of clay.
Powdered clay or crushed clay: how to choose?
With more than 67 years of know-how, we offer you different formats of illite green clay, crushed, granulated, ground-fine, or in surfine or ultra-ventilated powder.
Green clay is the most widely used clay in the world. Thanks to its multiple properties, it acts as well on the face, on the body as on the hair. Depending on your needs (poultice, plaster, mask...), there are different sizes of clay grains allowing you to make your own treatment while combining effectiveness and size.
Discover our different granulometries.
Green clay for beauty: In remineralizing baths, in purifying and rebalancing beauty masks...
The ultra-ventilated French clay: is a very fine powder, whose grains are 20 microns is ideal for making a face mask, because it is particularly soluble, it will melt easily in a little water. No waiting time for a care of an exceptional softness. Available in 300g bags
Surfine clay: (60 microns) is ideal for hair and body care. It is mainly used in small plaster or as a mask for hair. It can also be used in bath water to take advantage of all the benefits of this natural clay by combining the virtues of this care with a moment of relaxation. Available in 300g and 1kg bags
Green clay for health - Argilotherapy: To make poultices and plasters.
Green clay has been used since the dawn of time by many civilizations for therapeutic purposes to relieve joints, muscles, everyday ailments, atopic skin problems... Here are the clay granulometries for these types of treatments:
Fine ground clay: comes in the form of a multitude of small grains of varying sizes from 0.05 to 0.5mm. This clay is used in poultices and plasters. It has the advantage of melting quickly and thus requires little preparation time. Available in 1kg bags
Granulated clay: is a clay crushed into small grains of 0.5cm. Faster than crushed clay to melt, granulated clay melts in 30 minutes in water. Available in 3kg bags
Finally, crushed clay: is the most raw form of our green illite clay. It is presented in irregular pieces of 2cm. It takes a good 2 hours to melt, which is why it is advisable to prepare the paste the day before for the next morning or the morning for the evening. Available in 1kg and 3kg bags.
Argiletz puts all its know-how into making you benefit from this beneficial clay, whatever the treatment you wish to carry out and the time you have available.
Once you have chosen the size of the clay, using it is simple:
Pour the desired amount of clay powder into a clay or glass container
Cover with water (2cm).
Mix with a wooden spoon.
Let the mixture rest for the time indicated on the bag (depending on the granulometry of the clay)
Mix to obtain a creamy paste.
Use in plaster and poultice
Apply the clay directly on the skin in a thickness of 1 to 2 cm.
Or if the skin is damaged or very sensitive, apply with a thin cloth: put the clay on 2 cm thick in the center of the cloth, fold the 4 corners and apply this plaster directly on the desired place.
Leave it on for 1 to 2 hours. During the application, the clay must not dry, re-moisten if necessary with a water spray or a damp cloth.
Then, delicately remove the maximum of clay, throw it away and rinse the skin with tepid water.
For long-lasting relief, it is advisable to make a poultice once a day during the period when the discomfort is felt, then continue for another week.
