Mask for the face: The color of the clay has its importance

The French green clay mask: a universal ally for all skin types

It is the richest clay in minerals and trace elements beneficial to your skin. French green illite clay is certainly the most versatile and most used clay in the world. Green illite clay is a health and cosmetic ally. It is renowned for its ability to absorb excess sebum, regulate, balance, oxygenate, purify and regenerate your skin.

It helps the skin to gently fight excess sebum, impurities, blackheads and toxins of all kinds. Often recommended for oily skin, illite green clay is actually ideal for balancing and caring for all skin types in distress.

The red clay mask for dry skin lacking radiance

Thanks to its composition rich in iron oxide, the red clay face mask is ideal for illuminating the complexion and ensuring a remarkable healthy glow. Thanks to its softening action, this mask enriched with red clay is suitable for all skin types, even the driest, to gently cleanse them and give them a new radiance.

The pink clay mask for sensitive and reactive skin

Pink clay gently cleanses the skin. If you have sensitive and reactive skin, the pink clay face mask is for you! Yellow clay mask for combination skin

Similar in composition to illite green clay, yellow clay is very gentle and is perfect for toning and cleansing normal to combination skin. Ghassoul clay paste for sensitive skin

Used for centuries in the East, and more precisely in Morocco where it originates, Rhassoul (also called Ghassoul) is a clay with cleansing and purifying properties, ideal for sensitive skin. This clay is mainly used on the body and hair as a gentle cleansing agent. Indeed, thanks to its absorbing properties, this clay rich in ghassoul clay captures toxins, impurities and excess sebum and eliminates them with delicacy. If Ghassoul clay is now part of the hammam rituals, it is for a good reason: It guarantees a healthier, fresher and smoother skin! On the hair, the ghassoul clay cleans gently and leaves your hair coated and shiny.

How to apply a clay face mask?

If the clay face mask is a cosmetic essential in beauty routines, it is important to know how to apply it to get all the benefits. And they are numerous!

Step 1: The scrub

The first step (not obligatory but recommended) consists in preparing your skin so that the clay mask provides all its benefits, its minerals and trace elements, its purifying and beneficial actions. To do this, we recommend that you perform a gentle exfoliation by massaging your skin with your fingertips using a few touches of Argiletz sugar scrub. This way, a maximum of dead cells and impurities will be removed and the clay can be applied to perfectly clean skin. Rinse the scrub thoroughly with clear water and gently dry your skin with a towel before applying the mask.

Step 2 : The face mask

Next, apply the cosmetic clay mask to the entire face and neck in a thick layer, avoiding the eye area.

The clay is applied in a flash thanks to our tube formats, ready to use, moreover, its silky touch invites to relaxation.

Once the paste is applied, leave the mask on for 10 minutes. During this time, it is important not to let the clay dry. We often think that the right time to remove the mask and rinse our face is when the clay is completely dry. This is not the case! Clay is an amazing material, which comes to life when in contact with water and transmits its active principles to our skin when it is wet.

As it dries on the skin, the clay, regardless of its color, stops releasing its minerals and trace elements. However, it continues to absorb, sometimes more than necessary, and can draw on your skin's hydration, which must be avoided.

So don't wait until your skin is tight, get a spray bottle and spray a little water all over your face regularly. You can also moisten with a sponge, or simply with your wet fingers!

Once the 10 minutes are up, you can remove most of the clay with a glove or sponge and then rinse your face thoroughly with clean water.

Step 3: Moisture and intense nutrition

Multimasking: a personalized face mask

Ultra trendy for the last few years, multimasking is a practice that comes straight from Japan and consists in applying different masks to each area of the face according to its specific needs. Each skin has its own particularities.

What are the advantages of multimasking? Adapt the treatment, and therefore the color of clay, according to the area of your face to be pampered. The key is to juxtapose and not to superimpose.

In some cases, the T-zone (forehead, nose, chin) is often the one that concentrates imperfections (blackheads, redness...) and excess sebum while the rest of the face is normal or dry. It is then advisable to apply an absorbent and/or exfoliating clay on the T-zone (green or yellow clay for example) and to apply a more neutral clay on the rest of the face (white or pink clay). In other cases, we talk about an inverted T: the nose, chin and lower cheeks concentrate excess sebum and require special attention.
